Fabric History/Pedigree: 1970's, found in a batch of liner and other fabrics in bolts and rolls; Deadstock, unused, still in original bindings.

Fabric Type: This is a Japanese-spun wool muslin and is light-weight but tightly woven, smoother than worsted wool in the West; Designs are a full background of asa-no-ha (hemp leaf), a traditional motif in a symmetrical grid throughout; there are small dolls (Gosho ningyo, palace dolls, a traditional motif)  scattered throughout, with largest being one (1) inch / 25.4mm tall; the fabric is a soft-white background with designs in hot pink; dolls have dark pink accents in places, doll figures' lines rendered in thin black(see close-ups).

Condition:  Excellent, aged but clean, and 100% usable.
