Fabric History/Pedigree: Delicate, soft 1930-50s silk fabric piece received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Type:  Lightweight silk is solid dark plum color with interwoven odd reticular lines in background(see our last image for close-up of this rather peculiar design); Motifs are large fans, each of which are fully decorated with many types of flowers, pine branches; also classic stream lines can be seen; colors of the motifs are creamy-tan for the background fans, various reds, iron red, pink, darkblues, lighter blues and greens, some mustard yellows; the fabric is very slightly translucent, some sheen, nice drape; recommended for making scarf or accessory; suitable for framing.
