Fabric Description: Lightweight fine red silk originally intended to make a woman's kimono; This is   1930s-1950s fabric piece which is a red background color with designs of  Gosho Ningyo (Palace Dolls, a classic motif),  orbs (larger ones are  6.5 inches [16.51 cm] diameter) ;orbs have a variety of floral designs, as well as royal carriages with flowers; flowers are many types, classic look; Colors within the designs and figures are very light pinks, dark aqua-blues, dark reds, yellow and mustard, whites and some greens; Also there are decorative cords, individual flowers, and bamboo leaves; While colorful, the colors are muted by aging, so the fabric is subtle and does not have a 'bright' look, just ornate (see closeups); This is a print process, so designs are on one side, but as the fabric is thin, some of the designs can be seen on the reverse.

Note on colors: As all devices have different colorations and contrast, please use our text descriptions of colors to complement your sense of the color of the fabric.
