Fabric History/Pedigree: 1960's pieces derived from deadstock roll of kimono silk; (Deadstock means old inventory which is like new but has been in storage, never been used)
Fabric Description: Japanese vintage silk kimono fabric used to make everyday women's kimono; fabric is light-weight with slightly textured (not quite chirimen) surface and no sheen; Background is a solid pale pink/mauve with the white designs of suzume (small Japanese sparrows, Passer Montanus, also called "Eurasian Tree Sparrow"); also, there are white wave-like slightly arched lines throughout as background to the birds; designs on one side.
