- Fabric History/Pedigree: 1930's to 1950's silk fabric pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.
- Fabric Description: Meisen silk, lightweight; more modern looking patterns of open fans with overlain flowers(peonies, plum blossoms); as typical of Meisen of this period, note the intentional blurring of boundaries, quite impressionistic; same on both sides; no sheen; Unlike any meisen design we've seen in some time.
- Colors: Background is a solid, deep vermillion with design colors in yellow to mustard, greens, off-white, orange, reds, black and salmon colors. (Please NOTE that colors differ on each device so use our text descriptions to complement your sense of the fabric).
