Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.
Fabric Description: Lightweight silk; originally intended to make nagajuban; This is a 1960's fabric piece with background of dark-salmon color and white; some light-green areas in striped areas; Designs are hand tie-dyed shibori motifs of mostly flowers, some bands with diagonal stripes; note the typical small-dots fields, the hallmark of true shibori; same on both sides except the liner is still attached to back.
