Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description:  Thin lightweight silk originally intended to make a woman's kimono; This is a 1930s-1950s fabric piece which is slightly translucent in bright light; designs background is navy-blue and various shades of lighter blue and moss-green; designs are curling stripes with what appear to be stylized lines of stream or water flowing; designs on one side, lighter version visible on reverse; slight drape.
