Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description:  Lightweight silk originally intended to make a woman's kimono; This is a 1930s-1940s fabric piece which is has metallic silver threads interwoven throughout; Background is a pale light green with three large (6inches/15.24 cm diameter) brocade chrysanthemums on background field of complex floral patterns interwoven. Colors: copper, red, greens, and abundant silver sparkling. Designs on one side only, but mostly visible slightly on the reverse.
