Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: Light-medium-weight silk originally intended to make a woman's kimono; This is a 1960's fabric piece which is a lighter shade of burgundy-red; motifs are interwoven throughout of ornate classic themes: streams, forests, flora, country hut, bamboo thatched fencing; These motifs fill the fabric the whole length; our last picture is over-exposed so as to better show the motifs; design same on both sides; no sheen.


Recommended for making scarf or accessories.
