Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: Fine lightweight silk, slightly translucent, originally intended to make a woman's kimono; This is a good quality silk fabric piece with a print background of purple and white shibori-like (mimic of tie-dyed patterns) in grid of 1/4 inch/6.35 mm diamond-squares symmetrically filling the fabric; The darker purple figures are subtle streams designs done in the classic traditional style;  the design is print on one side, visible on reverse;
