Fabric Description: Lightweight silk originally intended to make a woman's  kimono; This is a higher-quality 1950's fabric silk piece which is smooth to the touch on front side; background color is purple with designs in tiny tan pinstripes configured to create a pattern of diamond-shaped thatch work grid; diamond shapes are of varying sizes; also, some of the diamond shapes lines are solid in places;  Furthermore, there are 1 inch (2.54cm) lateral bands of irregular strings every 2 inches lengthwise; These can only be seen when holding fabric up to bright light; design is intended for one side, but is partly visible on reverse; no-sheen, nice drape.
