Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: Lightweight silk originally intended to make a woman's kimono, very slightly translucent; This is a 1950's fabric piece with a dark plum color background;  the classic motifs are of floral decorative royal cart wheels with white stylized cursively shaped flowers in background, also a few small spoked circle shapes (resemble dandelion seeds or fireworks?); Designs are on one side, but partly visible on reverse; design colors: light purples, aqua-blue, red, off-white and cream; fabric has slight drape; no-sheen.


Recommended for making scarf or accessories.
