Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.
Fabric Description: 1960's silk piece of lightweight, translucent summer fabric called ro, a sort of skip-stitched weave; blue-lavender background; nice drape, patterns same on both sides; Motifs are of dull silver-white-colored bands of varying lengths which run lengthwise; note the Ro stitching runs laterally; there are also mustard-brown bars intermittently spaced within the bands.
