Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: Lightweight high-quality fine silk is slightly translucent; fabric originally intended to make a woman's under-kimono(nagajuban); This is a 1950's fabric piece with a deep purple background with all patterns interwoven; large floral circles and curlicue stems all rendered by interweaving process; sheen varies with the figures having less sheen; soft fabric has very nice drape.


Recommended for making scarf or accessories.
