Item Details and Description
Fabric History/Pedigree: 1970's pieces derived from deadstock roll of kimono mock-silk; (Deadstock means old inventory which is like new but has been in storage, never been used);
Fabric Type: Light-medium weight wool, slight drape; Japanese wool is a smoother and tighter weave than many Western worsted types of wool. (Interesting discussion of the term worsted wool is here.); Background color is off-white with tint of orange; grid lines are orange.
Motifs: This an interesting design with small (.25 inch/ 6.35mm) diamond shapes in honey-comb background grid with classic figures of treasure mallet, treasure box, scrolls, and Temari-balls. Motifs on one side, but lightly visible on reverse.
