Fabric History/Pedigree: 1980's silk fabric pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.
Fabric Type: Lightweight vintage silk is a mauve-pink, perhaps a hint of lavender color background; the fabric background is a full field which is hard to describe: perhaps a forest as seen from afar, or, even perhaps snow-covered fields -- definite impressionistic feel to that aspect of the background; This field is interwoven throughout with clusters of distinctive trees (spruce/coniferous) which have definite sheen; trees are in small groups running lengthwise; all of these effects are on one side; therefore textured on front; Fabric originally for making an under-kimono (nagajuban); nice quality silk, some drape; good for making scarf or accessories.
NOTE: Please use any text descriptions of colors we use here to complement your sense of the colors, as devices differ.
NOTE Re: COLOR OF LAST IMAGE -- Note that we intentionally under-exposed the last close-up to better reveal the trees, thus that image's colors are not accurate, see other pics for better rendering of the color described above.
