Fabric History/Pedigree: 1960s lightweight silk fabric piece received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.
Fabric Type: Lightweight silk, slightly tanslucent, pinkish-tan color background with interwoven classic diagonal geometric maze (classic one with ancient 'shrine' symbol imbedded); designs one one side only; reverse reveals some of the front motifs; Interesting motifs which are in subtle tones of moss and similar greens, mustard, and some dark-red small flowers also; fabric is slightly stiff so drape is limited; Designs seem influenced more by Western aesthetics, which happened at times in the 50s and 60s after the end of the war (WWII).
NOTE: Colors differ on different devices so please use our text descriptions as reference.
Condition: Excellent.
