Fabric History/Pedigree: 1930s-1950s light-medium weight high-quality silk nagajuban fabric piece received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.
Fabric Type: Medium-weight silk, in a rusty-orange background with brocade/embroidered circular shapes(8"/20.32cm across) on front; reverse shows brocade threads; Fabric itself is interwoven with classic designs (mon/crests fields, stream, flowers -- crests and flowers all small); The circular shapes resemble gourds and have metallic gold, silver and blue threads brocaded chrysanthemums & plum blossoms with branches; nice drape.
