Fabric History/Pedigree: 1960s lightweight silk fabric piece received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.
Fabric Type: Medium-weight silk, in a dark cherry-red solid background with brocade/embroidered off-white striped geometric (obtuse triangle shaped) figures on front; reverse shows brocade threads; This is decidedly more modernistic and Western in aesthetics, which we see in the post-war period when artists felt liberated after the oppression of creative expression during the war (WWII); (our humble opinion,YL).
