Fabric History/Pedigree: 1960s lightweight silk fabric piece received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.
Fabric Type: Lightweight silk, slightly translucent, in black background with interwoven designs one one side, solid black on reverse; Motifs are gray hexagonal diamond figures in grid, with 3 inches (7.62 cm) band running lengthwise; Note that the entire design is done in tiny pixels; hexagonal shapes are nested with single flowers in center that have light vermillion hue, with a few of the whole flowers in metallic gold and silver; silk has no sheen and is slightly textured to the touch, minimal drape; suitable for making scarf or accessories.
