Item Details and Description:

  • Fabric History/Pedigree:   Light-weight deadstock silk (new but unsold stock) estimated from the 1990's.
  • Fabric Description:  Light-weight silk originally intended for making woman's kimono; shuiro (traditional Japanese color said to be good luck) which is a vermillion orange-red color common in ceremonial women's kimonos; fabric with interwoven small chrysanthemums in grid throughout; each yard has two(2) cloud shapes which have been done in shibori (tie-died); one is a light blue-white, the other light lavender-white; Larger cloud shape is about 8 inches (20.32 cm) wide.
