Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: Light-weight silk hand-done shibori (tie-dyed); originally intended to make nagajuban; This is a 1980's fabric piece with a red background, classic shibori designs along one half side in white shibori 'dots' fields; Fabric is interwoven throughout with diagonal geometric shapes (including traditional shrine symbol) as well as flowers (mostly chrysanthemums); same on both sides.
