Fabric History/Pedigree: 1950's silk fabric pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Type:  Lightweight silk is somewhat smooth to touch but no sheen; print on one side;  Fabric is a deep purple background with five fans that are staggered the length of the fabric; fans are open and have ragged edges in places (this appears intentional but we're unsure); Also groups of pinstripes running partway across the fabric in spaces behind the fans; Other motifs are geometric and shibori-like field patterns (within fans) and flowers; colors used for fans: pale green, light mustard and tans.

Condition: Excellent; Finer silk has good drape, good for making a scarf, or even for framing.
