Fabric History/Pedigree: 1960s piece derived from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.
Fabric Description: Lightweight silk kimono fabric, used to make woman's kimono; fabric patterns on both sides; fabric is black background with evenly spaced green cursive stripes running lengthwise with square and round alternating figures within them; white accents also intermittently placed; fabric is textured, slightly rough to the touch, similar to chirimen crepe.
