Fabric History/Pedigree: 1960s piece derived from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.
Fabric Description: Lightweight silk kimono fabric, only slightly translucent, used to make woman's kimono; fabric patterns on both sides; fabric is dark green background with lattice design in diamond shapes throughout; there is a 1 inch (2.54 band) composed of a stripe running lengthwise which is about 4.25"(10.79cm) from left side; The matrix line colors are a light aqua-green; fabric is slightly textured, no sheen; NOTE: The vertical stripe described above cannot be readily seen in photos.
