Fabric History/Pedigree: 1930's-1940s pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.
Fabric Description: Lightweight, slightly translucent navy-blue background color silk with designs of 1 inch (2.54cm) X-shaped florals with dotted diamonds in counter-relief; symmetrical grid throughout; figures and designs are in gray-blue to colonial blue and muted whites; design on one side, but some shows through on the reverse.
