Fabric History/Pedigree: 1970's, pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.
Fabric Description: Japanese vintage silk kimono fabric used to make woman's nagajuban or kimono liner; Lightweight fabric is consistently a mauve-pink color background and slightly translucent; Motifs are interwoven of maple leaves (solid) and maple leaves(outlines) throughout; the solid maple leaf shapes are shiny, almost metallic brightness;excellent drape; main side has fuller sheen, reverse still shows leaves, just subtly.
