- Fabric History/Pedigree: 1960's tsumugi (pongee) silk pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner / reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.
- Fabric Description: Japanese vintage traditional Tsumugi is a pongee type silk-making process using raw silk threads; very distinctive interwoven patterns of flowers on long stem bunches; this tsumugi is a light fabric and slightly textured to the touch; Background is a medium shade of brown with a hint of olive green; Note also the weaves create a tiny pixelated (tiniest)checkerboard pattern (only visible in bright light and very close inspection).
