Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.
- Fabric Description: Fine quality lightweight slightly translucent silk is a 1950's fabric piece in a red and white background with the field as a grid of tiny shibori-like dots (1/8th inch / .3.17mm) throughout, with large 6 inch (15.24 cm) diameter traditional style chrysanthemums overlain; Intended for use on one side, but patterns visible on the reverse; originally intended for use in making a nagajuban (lady's under-kimono) or liner.
