- Fabric Description: Lightweight silk is a 1960s fabric piece with black background and designs of 2 inches (5.08 mm) long hexagonal shapes, evocative of traditional Japanese tortoise shell motifs; within each pink-bordered hexagon are concentric hexagons with starburst figure in white-silver at center; other colors are gray and darker gray; motif intended for one side, but it shows lightly on reverse; fabric is textured to the touch, almost a chirimen feel.
