Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.
- Fabric Description: Lightweight , slightly translucent silk is a 1950s fabric piece in soft salmon-pink color background with black designs of 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) round flower shapes configured in grid to fill fabric; at center of flowers are small accents in dark colonial-blue and pink; lined rectangular figures(see close-up) arranged in symmetrical grid layout; motifs on one side but reverse shows flowers; the fabric is fairly smooth to the touch but has no sheen;slight drape.
