Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.
- Fabric Description: Slightly translucent lightweight silk is a 1950s fabric piece in a grid of dark brown, black and white background; Grid design is composed of approximately 1 inch / 2.54 cm square, with "X" in center of each square; There are thin fine white lines running within all boundaries, as well as three line figures(curving) at interstices of the grid (See close-ups); Design on one side only; Other colors of the grid are grays, light-blues, rust and off-whites.
