Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.
- Fabric Description: Lightweight silk is a 1960s tie-dyed shibori fabric piece in a dark burgundy (with a hint of brown) background with two figures near top which look like coupled pairs of crest designs; all shibori (dots) are in soft-white; fabric is same on both sides, rendered by the hand-done shibori process; Fabric is textured so thicker due to shibori process(fabric not smooth).
