Item Details and Description:
-
Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.
- Fabric Description: Lightweight silk is a 1950's fabric piece in a dark-burgundy background with different sized circular figures (not sure what they represent), largest figures are 7 inches / 17.78 cm in diameter; The colors in the figures are several shades of dark and other burgundy tones as well as mustard and dark-gray. This fabric has no sheen and feels close to unprocessed raw silk (very slight texture) to the touch.
