- Fabric History/Pedigree: 1970's tsumugi (pongee) silk pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner / reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.
- Fabric Description: Japanese vintage traditional Tsumugi is a pongee type silk-making process using raw silk threads; large scale checkerboard pattern; this tsumugi is a light fabric but textured to the touch, closer to what raw silk feels like.
- Colors: Dark chocolate-brown background with large 4 inch (10.16 cm) squares bound by different color 3/4 inch (19.05 mm) bands which are light browns, moss-green and dark fuzzy-pink.
- Motifs: Large checkerboard design; same on both sides.
- Condition: Excellent.
