Fabric History/Pedigree: 1960's kimono silk fabric pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner / reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.
Fabric Type: Lightweight slightly translucent silk; no sheen; same on both sides; the background is burgundy with designs of large bamboo leaves in soft-white. This a mock-shibori, mimicking the look of tie-dyed (shibori) fabric but is NOT tie-dyed; flat surface.
