Fabric History/Pedigree: 1930's-50's meisen silk fabric pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner / reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.
Fabric Type: Lightweight Meisen silk, slightly translucent; slight sheen in the colored design fields; same on both sides; background is a charcoal-black with interwoven shapes of bamboo leaves and stalks in silver white and aqua-blue (see close-ups).
