Fabric History/Pedigree: 1950's silk fabric pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.
Fabric Type: Lightweight kimono silk; slightly translucent fabric is textured to touch(has similar feel of raw unprocessed silk) and has no sheen; same designs are on both sides: symmetrical rows of 3/4 inch / 19.05 mm squares (fuzzy boundaries); squares are almost all soft-white with singular squares scattered which are light pink.
Note on fabric's color: Fabric appears black, but in lower incandescent light this fabric has a very dark indigo-green hue to it; we could not get this to render in our photos so it looks black for all intents and purposes.
Condition: Excellent for its age.
