Fabric History/Pedigree: 1950's silk fabric pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Type:  Lightweight kimono silk;  slightly textured to touch (not quite chirimen) and no sheen; designs are on one side, and include: ornate with flowers, daffodils, maples, pine, mums and others, as well as traditional screens, small arch bridges and classic pines; 

Colors: off-white (cream) background with iron red, mauve, colonial blue, moss-green and black; other shades of green. (See close-ups).

Condition: Excellent for its age.
