Fabric History/Pedigree: 1970's pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE

Fabric Description: Japanese vintage mock-silk kimono fabric used to make woman's haori or under-kimono.

Fabric Type: light weight mock-silk (synthetic) slightly textured like (but NOT) chirimen, interwoven throughout with grid of tiny  1/8th (.175) inch / 3.17 mm squares (where shibori hand-tie-dyeing is done); pattern on one side; Faint lined diamond shapes interwoven in grid background (more apparent from a distance).

Colors: Deep red with white.

Condition: Excellent.
