Fabric Description: Lightweight Japanese vintage mock-silk (synthetic) kimono fabric designed for use in making woman's kimono; background is burgundy with designs in off-white;
Motifs: Very rare triangular shapes (composed of 3 hexagons merged together),all lain out in a symmetrical grid; each triangular shape element is 1.25 " / 3.25 cm across; This rarely seen motif is from an Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1798-1861) woodblock print.(reference: Japanese Design Through Textile Patterns, Frances Blakemore, Tokyo, Weatherhill, 1978 First Edition.
