Fabric History/Pedigree: 1970's pieces derived from deadstock roll of kimono silk; (Deadstock means old inventory which is like new but has been in storage, never been used);
Fabric Description: Lightweight Japanese vintage mock-silk (synthetic) kimono fabric designed for use in making woman's kimono; background is burgundy-red with intricate grid composed of geometric lined squares which are 5/8 (.63) inch / 15.88 mm square; the burnished silver color threads used to form these squares are slightly reflective, depending on lighting; (see close-ups); motifs on one side, underthreads visible on bottom(reverse).
