Item Details and Description

Fabric History/Pedigree: 1960's fabric, found in lots from Arai Hari (special Japanese kimono cleaner -- see info on Arai-Hari HERE from John Marshall, expert on Japanese textiles).

Fabric Type:  Lightweight silk double wide (28" / 71.12 cm) which is vermilion with colorful designs: cranes, fans, with cherry blossoms, peach blossoms, bamboo leaves, banners, circles and stylized clouds (tan); print, on one side; Classic traditional designs; probably originally intended for making nagajuban (underkimono): design colors include: aqua-blue, tan, navy, lavender, greens, purple, black, red and vermilion.

NOTE:  Pictures are of half of the width, same designs fill fabric 28" width.

Condition: Excellent.
