Item Details and Description
Fabric History/Pedigree: 1960's fabric, deadstock (like new, never used from another era) for use in making younger lady's silk kimono; 100% Japanese silk; Received as bolt; designs shown are continuous.
Fabric Type: Light-weight textured, only slightly chirimen (crepe) silk; brightly colored fabric has slight drape with background being white; designs are print, on one side only.
Motifs: Quite unusual design of six slightly diagonal solid color bands running lengthwise, each band decorated differently with various flowers (maple leaves, iris, chrysanthemums, cherry blossoms, plum blossoms and bamboo); also, other traditional designs & motifs; Also metallic gold trim accents on some flowers and other places;see close-ups.
