Fabric Description: Deadstock (new, never used but from another era) light-medium weight meisen silk This is an early 1950s piece; Meisen is defined literally as 'common silk stuff'; and has grown in popularity in the last few years; it is a kasuri (ikat) type weave fabric with usually larger bold patterns and bright colors, though this piece is very atypical. Fabric Type: Light Weight Meisen silk, same on both sides; Designs are varying size stripes and bars which run horizontally; Slightly lighter than most other meisen of this period, feels like a thicker cotton but is indeed meisen silk.
Colors: Unusual color selection for meisen seen in this fabric: avocado-green, salmon, burgundy, grayish-lavender & off-white.
Condition: Excellent.
