Fabric History/Pedigree: 1950's meisen silk fabric pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner / reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.
Fabric Type: Light Weight Meisen silk; little sheen; same on both sides; Designs are large circles overlapped into a pair with smaller cross-shapes; note the use of striped bands within some of the circles; Fabric is black background with use of reds, burgundy, yellow, aqua-green for the designs. The individual rings are about 5 inches / 12.7 cm diameter and the cross shapes about 1.25 inches / 31.75 mm square .
