Fabric Description: Lightweight meisen silk This is an early 1950's piece; Meisen is defined literally as 'common silk stuff'; and has grown in popularity in the last few years; Meisen from that period are usually larger bold patterns and bright colors. See close-ups.
Fabric Motifs: In kasuri ikat style, large mon(crests) type designs which are 4.5 inches / 11.43 cm diameter with small one inch /2.54 cm squares alternating; Designs have same intentional fuzziness as used in indigo-kasuri traditional Japanese ikat; patterns same on both sides.
Colors: Background is dark-salmon(hint of rust) with mon (crest) designs in plum and off-white with light blues.
