Fabric Description: Japanese vintage silk kimono fabric designed for use in making woman's silk kimono; interesting *bokashi-like (gradation dyeing) in light salmon-pink and gray. The fuzziness in pictures is actual appearance, though it looks like it's out of focus. This is often referred to as 'Bokashi' look.
|*Cultural Note: Bokashi refers to a type of dyeing used in traditional Ukiyoe woodblock prints in 19th Century Japan. Also referred to as a brush-dyeing of fabrics or paintings which renders the fuzziness and very subtle gradations between color fields. See Wikipedia Page HERE.|
Type: Light-medium weight Japanese silk, slightly textured to touch, not much drape; utilitarian strong type fabric.
Note: If buying multiples of this, it will be sent in uncut length.
