Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description:  Lightweight  silk This is an 1960's piece of fine quality silk originally intended for young lady's more formal kimono.

Fabric Motif:
 
Patterns on one side; designs are classical style Japanese rendering of flowers and their leaves (not sure of types); flowers also have shapes which resemble fans; background is deep coral blue and black with shibori-style (clusters of tiny dots in fields) clouds. Other colors are several shades (light to gray , to dark)olive greens, as well as mustards, tan,white and dark browns; slight drape; colors are gradation transitions between the black and dark-coral blue.

Condition: Excellent.

Great for making scarf or accessories; even suitable for framing.
