Item Details and Description:
-
Fabric History/Pedigree: medium-weight deadstock seersucker yukata cotton (new but unsold stock) estimated from the 1950's; This is a cotton used to make a summer garment; not the thinner bathhouse type fabric; Acquired in full roll, original bindings. multiple yardage will be sent uncut.
- Fabric Description: This is a rarely seen seersucker cotton for use in making a yukata (not the thin bathrobe type, but for summer outer wear); Seersucker is puckered and highly textured to the touch for a cotton; Design is a grid pattern of diamond shapes which have within them other geometric shapes forming an even-sided cross with tiny diamond in center; rather unusual for yukata fabric but is in great shape and thicker than most yukata cottons from that period.
-
Colors: base is dark indigo and dark colonial blues with off-white lines; lines are pixelated which adds a unique look to the fabric; see close-ups.
- Condition: Excellent.
